Check this out if you haven't already; I've made it the homepage on my beloved thesis-cradling work computer. It's a super-fast way to get the buzz on what went down while you were in the bathroom at work/eating a lukewarm lean pocket/watching Beauty & the Geek reruns on VH1/quietly sobbing into your 7th edition Statistical Methods and Practices of the Anal-Retentive Researcher:



I think it's awesome. It keeps me updated in the 0.5 minutes of down time I have between writing theses, reading massive british journal articles, and gently laving the balls of my graduate committee.

pretty pink ribbon

Over the past five years Tex and I would like to think you've gotten to know us pretty well. You know we hate hipsters , love Ramshackles , and that we have a preppy streak a mile wide. And that preppy mile of ours? It's paved in grosgrain. Ever since the tragic shredding of my favorite ribbon belt from high school (faulty D-rings, it's still hard to talk about) I've been on the hunt for something new to love. And I'm happy to report that I've found it. About a week or two ago we received a package from our giveaway partner in crime and, kids, its contents have brought us nothing but joy. We've gone on record before about our affinity for Chesapeake Ribbons , but now we're walking the walk, as well. I've worn my new favorite belt every single day since receiving it, and not one of those days has passed without getting at least one compliment on it. I'm telling you, this stuff is cute. 'Twilight' is terrible.

Texas likes to spare you pain. Texas likes to spare you suffering. And thus, dear reader, Texas would like to spare you 'Twilight.' If you've been thinking of caving in to (ex) friends and/or (not so) loved ones who would like you to go see this film, let me save you your $8.00 and tell you everything you need to know right here: I give it a grade of...... F-minus. I'm not going to summarize the movie for you, because every single other site on the internet has done that. Instead, I'm just going to let you know: 'Twilight' is terrible. The acting sucks, the lighting is that stupid gray wash (which I thought we had all moved past, Film Industry ), the dialogue is stilted and awkward, the premises are unbelievable (200 years old, immense wealth and unlimited power and the vampires choose to repeat high school ?
